Last week my friend invited to check out the all you can eat sushi buffet at Sushi Choo, on the Ground Floor of the Ivy. The restaurant is set up with a long marble sushi train bar, and tastefully decorated with large low hanging red lanterns, and cute astro boys and Japanese toys around the bar, as well as porcelain origami crane birds and owls.
For $25, you can help yourself to all you can eat sushi, at 12 pm – 1 pm. An array of little plates with salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, and all your traditional sushi and California rolls (salmon & avocado, spicy tuna rolls), edamami, and salads, go round the bar for you to indulge as much as you like.
.
Unfortunately the variety of sushi and sashimi is limited, I would have liked to have seen a more interesting assortment of dishes and they definitely need more nigiri on the plates. For $25, you end up wondering how much of the same sushi & sashimi dishes you can eat.
An interesting experience, fun setting in the heart of the city, but I would probably not go back there again for this deal.
Sushi Choo Early Bird Special, Monday – Friday, 12 pm – 1 pm, 5.30 – 7.30. Sushi Choo, Ground floor, Ivy, 320 George Street, Sydney,2000
Yeah, looks like they pare back the variety for the all-you-can-eat deals, which kinda makes sense even though it’s not as satisfying…
