Last week I had the pleasure of meeting a number of great rising designers, including Hong Kong based designer Crystal Tsoi, in a private viewing of her collection at a showroom at the Shangri-La Hotel. It was great to meet the very friendly, bubbly designer and see her beautifully handcrafted designs in the private viewing of her Influx SS12/13 collection, before they were showcased at the Australian Fashion Week show on Friday, as part of the Raffles show.
“Hong Kong based designer, Crystal Tsoi launched her eponymous label that carries a strong east-meets-west element fusing with the designer’s passion towards bauhaus aesthetic, creating garment that is innovative with bold detail and great attention to the femininity.” (Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia)
Crystal Tsoi combined the use of different fabrics, including light silks and chiffons, and also introducing various innovative and versatile ways of wearing her garments. Crystal Tsoi’s introduced playful twists on traditional forms, and combined these beautiful feminine lines, geometric layered skirts, tops and dresses in block colours, in dark navy, purple, hues, and magenta.
