I am such a lucky girl – last week I met so many amazing designers at the Mercedes Benz Australian Fashion week. I was invited to a Wine Testing event last Wednesday organised by the Hong-Kong trading council to introduce four reputable designers from Hong Kong, Chailie Ho, Hai Lau, Harrison Wong and Dodo Leung. It was such a great opportunity to meet these talented designers in person, discuss their background and inspirations, before seeing their designs showcased as part of Australian Fashion Week on Friday at the Style Hong Kong Show.
One of the highlights for me was Chailie Ho’s collection. “Chailie Ho’s designs accentuate the delicate elegance of modern women, embracing feminine independence and inner strength. In her latest collection, Chailie combines romantic sartorial details and soft hand-drawn watercolour prints with a strong emphasis on fluidity, her refined, sleek and unconventional collection glows with a gentle timeless elegance.
This dress was stunning – the soft flowy silk and feminine silhouette reminding me of a Rembrandt painting.
I also loved the beautiful draping on this yellow dress – STUNNING!
I loved the ‘romantic’ influences in Chailie’s designs, the flowy silk fabrics, beautiful watercolour prints, there was a distinct ‘french romance’ in her latest collection, each design accentuated the feminine silhouette.
Chailie was very friendly when I met her at the HK event last week (held at HK house). Chailie was also wearing one of her designs, a beautiful watercolour print of the Hong Kong skyline on her dress – I loved that print!
I really loved Chailie’s romantic and feminine designs (some of her designs resembling the romantic, flowy silky dresses that are synonymous with Alberta Ferreti’s collections). I really hope to collaborate with Chailie on J’adorais – let us know what you think of her latest collection!!!
