Last week I had the pleasure of viewing the newly launched label, Gabriel Lee and meet the designer as part of Mercedes Benz Australia Fashion week. “Born and raised in South Korea, Gabriel Lee moved to Sydney to study fashion at Raffles College of Design and Commerce. While he was attending he won a number of awards, including first place in ‘Frock up in Colour’ section at Tessuti Awards 2010 and in 2009 he won most outstanding Major Studio Project, Design excellence Award 2009, Raffles College of Design and Commerce Sydney. Gabriel Lee is launching his eponymous label in South Korea, Australia and other international locations.” (Mercedes Benz Australian Fashion Week)
Gabriel Lee launched his SS2012/13 collection at Mercedes-Benz Australian Fashion Week as part of the Raffles Fashion Show last Friday in Sydney. His collection featured feminine summer and resort designs, flowy feminine lines, in beautiful light dusk pinks and nude colours. Models walked down the catwalk wearing holly-hobby woven visor hats with to the theme of Wizard of Oz “Somewhere over the rainbow” sung by Judy Garland playing in the background, which complemented the timeless elegance and of his collection.
I loved the cream leather briefcase. Great for the stylish working woman..
I loved this long nude jumpsuit with dusk pink piping, very elegant with clean lines – reminiscent to “Katherine Hepburn’s” classy and polished style!
I’m such a jumpsuit fan I liked the short jumpsuit too – very sweet but elegant at the same time.
Each of his designs unique & wearable, his inspirations from strong, independent woman.
I loved his finale piece, this beautiful silk dusk pink dress with a statement train and a cropped trench dusk pink jacket.
I also had the pleasure of meeting the designer, Gabriel Lee and have him show his collection at a private viewing at the Shangri-La hotel. After having seen the beautiful designs on the runway, it was great to see the lovely detailing in his designs. His designs were unique but very wearable, refined. I loved the subtle oriental influence in his designs. Look out for Gabriel Lee, another great designer we’re hoping to collaborate with at J’adorais!
