Hwan Heo is a London-based Korean born designer – a Royal College of Art alumni – who is now firmly bedded in at London Fashion Week as an emerging designer. He previously won the prestigious Fashion Scout Merit Award in 2012, which has also launched the career of David Koma and William Tempest.
He founded Heohwan Simulation in 2010 . This is now his fifth collection, and what a collection it was. The SS14 collection titled “Hyper Hyper” was my first show for the season and was filled with modern, clean silhouettes, with a fresh colour palette, graphic print and feminine detailing.
The collection referenced the 1950s and 1980s with a sportslux feel. Beautiful hard leathers, modern graphic floral prints in contrasting tones. A beautiful mix of cinched in waists, wispy ruffles and high buttoned necklines from the 50s mixed with bomber jackets from the 80s.
Modern. Contemporary. Sharp.
That is how Heoh describes his label. Succinct and I’m glad that he has achieved his vision.
Ooh! Cool graphics! No surprise, I’m sure, but the bomber is my favourite!
Beijinhos!
