Every year, there is one week in Sydney’s fashion calendar where our favourite Australian (and a few international) fashion bloggers, models and VIP of the fashion industry come together not only to see all the beautiful creations by our favourite established as well as emerging designers, but it is also a chance to showcase their unique styles at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Sydney’s Carriageworks.
For my sister Clarice & I, it was a great excuse to play dress up and we were each other’s style consultants in the days leading up to fashion week (as we both needed to pack our suitcases for the week-long event). I decided to forgo my regular Burberry trenches and jackets from my wardrobe and decided wear a few of the great emerging Australian brands that I’ve been admiring lately.
MBFW Day 1
Above: At Carriageworks, sporting the leather look, wearing this gorgeous leather trench by Aelkemi.
Above: Wearing Daniel Avakian silk top, Blessed are the Meek Shorts, Alexander McQueen boots, Balenciaga ring.
Above: I love the black panel details of the Daniel Avakian silk top. Below, Clarice & I in our coordinated monochrome look.
Above: Clarice wears Cos dress, Etsy collar & cuffs, Dolce & Gabbana Sunglasses from SunglassHut & Chanel Boy bag (watch out Karl Lagerfeld! ;).
MBFWA Day 2 “She paints a picture just for me, with colorful intensity in hues that never fade away and paints them all in shades of grey” ~ Charlie Parant.
I loved this grey coat by designer Anna Quan, who we had the pleasure of meeting during fashion week. I love her unique, clean, beautifully tailored elegant and distinctive designs. She is currently busy working on her next collection, we look forward to seeing it with much anticipation. Anna Quan Tilda Coat, worn with Current Elliott leather pants, Burberry studded belt, Christian Louboutin red pumps, Ann & Albert silk top, Nini Peony necklace.
Above: After Jayson Brunsdon’s show, I loved the setting of the show, where thousands of roses were lined up on the catwalk, and at the show’s finale a shower of red roses descended on the catwalk (very Burberry-esque style ;).
Above: With my beautiful sister, wearing Mrs Selfportrait red lace dress, Chloe by Stella McCartney jacket, Dieppa Restrepo shoes and Louis Vuitton bag.
MBFWA Day 3
I love this leather skirt by Anna Quan below, and had planned to wear it with a much more ‘classic’ look with heels, but opted for comfort “sporty luxe meets old-school style” wearing converse sneakers (which was a great relief for my feet running around from one fashion show to another.
Above: Anna Quan leather skirt, worn with RUN DMC (“Yeah you know me”) t-shirt from Cotton on, Helmut Lang blazer, Converse High-top white leather sneakers, Ray Ban sunglasses from Sunglass Hut, Mawi London bracelet & Chanel Boy Bag.

MBFWA Day 4
Last day of fashion week was the warmest day (I think it made to over 25 degrees), so I was able to leave the jacket behind and wear this fun jumpsuit by Blessed are the Meek, along with this fedora hat by Country Road, as well as these nude pumps by Alphaville (Alpha 60).
Above: Short break between shows with my good friend & stylish Style Dr Kash O’Hara, wearing Philosophy white skirt, Amana Hart gold shoes, YSL clutch, Karen Walker sunglasses.
Above: Coordinated in our black & white jumpsuits, Clarice wears Natalie Constantinidou white lace jumpsuit, Isabel Marant red bow pumps, Red Witchery clutch, Millay Vintage purse, Anna Janakis bracelet.
Above: Picture taken by Kash O’Hara (aka The Style Dr) – check out the coordinated bow heels 😉

Looking back I realise now that I opted for very monochrome looks throughout the week, which is quite unlike me (I’m usually much more colourful & Clarice is usually more monochrome ;). It was fun playing dress-up with my sister, which was your favourite look?
Next post I’ll be sharing the streetstyle looks at Carriageworks from our fashion favourites as well as some candid pics from fashion week. Have a great weekend! 💕👠👛
