The weather in Sydney in the last few days has been beyond crazy. It’s sunny in the morning and then BOOM! Hailstorms and what looks like a snow-covered floor. Well, with this very unpredictable weather it’s important to rug up & layer. And I’m so glad that last week I found myself some beautiful items that will be perfect in the coming Autumn Winter months.
I love my sample sales, having shopped one too many designer sample sales in London and Sydney, I had never made it to ‘the Big Fashion Sale’ before (which is held both in Sydney and Melbourne, generally after Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week), with many Australian designers selling past collections at a fraction of the cost. That is, until I went to ‘accompany’ a friend last week, only to discover beautiful designs by some of our favourite designers including Anna Quan, Gary Bigeni, Karla Spetic, Emma Mulholland, Haryono Setiadi, Get me to New York & many more.
I was so excited to find a beautiful soft & fuzzy knit by Karla Spetic. I fell in love with Karla’s designs when she showcased her collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week last year. It was also “my first time” seeing the stunning Nicole Warne in person (Gary Peppergirl), she was wearing this beautiful knit by Karla Spetic. (who else has a major girl crush? 😉

I found the knit below from the same collection (AW14 Crossroads) by Karla Spetic and absolutely fell in love with it as soon as I touched it, it’s so beautiful & soft.

My friend snapped up this gorgeous knit as worn by Nicole Warne last year at MBFWA at the sale too.

I loved the coat below also from the Crossroads collection (also at the sale).
After trying the coat above I found the colour didn’t suit my complexion but I found myself this beautiful grey wool coat (same as above but in grey), I’ve been obsessing over getting a nice grey coat for a while, and this is a lovely soft wool and great cut.
So hurray, cold Sydney weather I’m ready for you, I’ll be nice and warm & fuzzy in my cosy knit & coat.
There so many other beautiful things at the sale by some of our great Australian designers. For those of you in Melbourne, the Big Fashion Sale is coming to you this week, so don’t miss out!
