I posted a little while back about the nominees for the British Fashion icon for the British Fashion Awards, not realising that I would be able to attend the award in person!!!
Yes, tonight at the grandiose Savoy Hotel in London, along with all the beautiful models, fashion designers and fashionistas will be me and with my fashion lover friends A and L (a blogger herself).
I got to attend these awards two years ago and queued behind non other than the dashing Christopher Bailey and Daisy Lowe, who luckily stole the attention of the waiting photographers.
So what to wear to such an occasion? This of course has to be an outfit that allows for some mad dashing from work (in west weeeeest London… near Heathrow) to Savoy Hotel in the über glamorous tube. (Funnily the invite actually says “your driver should take you to The Savoy Hotel… one day perhaps).
So this is what I have rolled up in my little bag:
Dress in above style, but in the fabric of the skirt below.
Boots in the style of below but black shiny patent leather (so nicer):
The bag is similar to the one below, but instead of the two straps it has one thick long strap.
So fingers crossed there will be no problems with the tube tonight, and I’ll be able to be sipping champagne with the best of London fashion!

One highly anticipated fashion show for the 2nd day of London fashion week at Vauxhall Fashion Scout was Spijkers en Spijkers, the Dutch twin sisters duo Truus and Reit Spijkers.
The sisters graduated back in 1994 from the School of the Arts Arnhem (now ArtEZ called) Department fashion design and then in 2000 completed their master’s program at the Fashion Institute Arnhem.
They launched their label in 2000, and have shown in Paris , London and Milan.
The SS13 show, entitled ‘La Femme Paysage’, started with mainly blockly colours and geometrical prints with crisp lines and then progressed to 20s influenced simple dresses with lace detailing. My favourite pieces has to be the beautiful free flowing prints of Luisa Casati, that made the models look like walking works of art.
I also loved the hair and make-up, clean and simple with the focus on the eyes. Ja heel mooi (“very very pretty” in Dutch).
Ones to Watch next rising star designer Hana Cha is a London of College graduate that not only won the womenswear collection of the year, but also presented her last collection at the V&A.
Her design philosophy is to combine opposites, whether it be style, colour, or beautiful fabrics. I loved this beautiful monochrome collection. The detailed beading on the fabrics and the prints on the back of the fabrics were stunning, I love outfits that are stunning 360 degrees!

For the last three years, in cities all around the world fashionistas unite and celebrate a bit of fashion at their favourite stores.
In London each store is hosting different events and parties offering drinks, music and goodies!
Tonight I’ll be roaming the streets of Mayfair with my friend H and L, hopping from store to store… for Simpsons fans I’ll be like Homer when he’s in the world made of chocolate (also an absolute dream of mine)! I can’t wait to finish work! I’ll try to share some pics!
