Ones to Watch next rising star designer Hana Cha is a London of College graduate that not only won the womenswear collection of the year, but also presented her last collection at the V&A.
Her design philosophy is to combine opposites, whether it be style, colour, or beautiful fabrics. I loved this beautiful monochrome collection. The detailed beading on the fabrics and the prints on the back of the fabrics were stunning, I love outfits that are stunning 360 degrees!
I used to love love love Sass & Bide in my younger years. When they came out about 10 years ago, they were the “it” label for the fashionistas like Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton (eeks… not a good fashion icon I know), and after a few years I felt like they had left their designs slip a little into the more mainstream and a bit tacky. When I found out I nabbed myself some tickets to the show on the opening night of London Fashion Week, I was still pretty excited to see the Sydney duo!
I was thoroughly blown away by the beautiful tailoring, beading and detailing and a monochrome and neon colour palette that made this Aussie label stand on par with the London designers. It was a much more refined, grown up but still young collection.
The Sydney duo still do bring in the fashionistas with the front row including Pixie Geldoff and Poppy Delevigne and on the runway London “it” models Cara Delevigne and Jourdan Dunn.
