Feeling the Flower Power

There’s something about flowers in bloom that is uplifting.. walking past a colourful bed of roses in the park, the scent & colours of fresh cut flowers really brings warmth and serenity to a room..  We love red roses, bright tulips, orchids, oriental lilies..

Which is probably why designers have been keeping us uplifted throughout the current economic doom & gloom and featuring beautiful floral on the runways..

Erdem brings us beautiful floral prints collection after collection – I LOVED the prints in the SS12 collection..

Pretty floral prints being transposed onto light silky dresses flowing down the catwalks, flowers sewn onto structured bodices by Dolce & Gabanna, Rodarte featured cute sunflower dresses, Peter Som brought long printed maxi-dresses, Proenza Schouler combined different patterns and florals.

After drooling over all these beautiful collections on the runway I was so happy to have found these floral pieces by Philosophy di Alberta Ferreti.  A gorgeous silk dress with a high neck with a side ribbon and these cute floral print shorts with a purple ribbon belt.  These have been my favourite items in my wardrobe this season – when I put them on I feel like I’m wearing a painting by Monet! 🙂

So while for us down under autumn season has arrived, for my dear friends in the Northern Hemisphere, Spring is in the air – so get your flower power!
